Reducing health inequalities

The NHS Long Term Plan commits the NHS to a greater focus on prevention and on health inequalities. We recognise that the causes of ill health and inequalities include social, economic and environment factors such as housing, employment and education, risky lifestyle behaviours such as smoking and inactivity and access to services.

The CCG will therefore work with partners such as the rest of the NHS, local councils, the police, education, the voluntary sector and local residents to tackle some of the most significant causes of ill health, with a particular focus on the communities and groups of people most affected by these problems.

More information about our work will be available soon.
